“The Crab and Lobster in Ventnor is my favourite place. The wonderful team always make me feel like a local whenever I walk through the door, even though I no longer live there. Great atmosphere, great roasts and great beer.
The best local event is the Ventnor Fringe. Watching vFringe grow over the last few years has been a real treat, it has gone from strength to strength and is only getting better. I’m always excited to see what Jack and Mhairi (who run Ventnor Fringe) are going to do next.
My fondest memory whilst growing up on the Island was watching the solar eclipse on Ventnor Downs in 1999. I’d forgotten to bring my eclipse sunglasses, but a nice couple let me have the glasses they’d bought for their Great Dane as they realised he didn’t really need them. I also got to meet a Great Dane, which is always an excellent experience.”
