Featuring exciting and varied displays, Portsmouth Museum takes you on a trip through time to tell the Story of Portsmouth.

Discover how life has changed over the generations with accurate reconstructions of key areas through the centuries, including a 1971 dockyard worker’s kitchen and a 1950s living room. The Fine and Decorative Art Gallery features a wide range of material from the 17th Century to the present day.

Various other exhibitions include A Study in Sherlock which explores the life of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Football in the City, No Place Like Pompey and Magnifying Sherlock.

The Temporary Exhibition Gallery has a regularly changing programme of displays and ensures that there is always something to see or do.
