Ways to save

How to save on your ferry travel

There are plenty of ways to save on your ferry travel when you choose Wightlink.

Whether you’re booking a one-off trip or you travel across the Solent frequently, we’ve rounded up the best ways to cut costs.

From guides to securing the best price to exclusive discounts, special offers and competitions – browse below to find out how you can grab a bargain.

Getting the best price

If you’re bringing your car on the ferry, there can be lots of factors that will affect the price of your travel. Here are some steps you can take to ensure you get the best possible deal when booking with us:

  • Use our Best Fare Finder tool. This will allow you to see which days are the most cost-effective to travel on.

  • Be flexible. If you can, consider travelling outside of peak times between 10:00 and 16:00. Early morning and evening sailings usually cost less.

  • Plan ahead. Book your travel as soon as you know your required dates and you'll generally pay a cheaper price. Last-minute bookings often end up costing more.

  • Be savvy. Read on below to find out more ways to save, including special seasonal discounts and year-round schemes that could save you a few pounds.

Special offers, discounts and promotion codes

We run regular offers, like our Kids Go Free deal during the school holidays, as well as seasonal promotions that can mean big savings on your ferry travel.

But discounts aren’t just for the ferries. We often team up with accommodation providers, restaurants, attractions and more, so you can build a whole itinerary full of savings.
